Miguel Garcia, MS, LMSW

Meet Miguel Garcia, a dedicated Spanish-speaking therapist who's unique background bridges the worlds of oil and gas, education, and community service. With over 20 years of experience in various industries, Miguel has developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals in high-stress environments.

Miguel was born in the beautiful city of San Antonio and moved to Houston as an adolescent. He began a career in the oil and gas sector, witnessing firsthand the mental health struggles often overlooked in demanding professions. His commitment to fostering well-being led him to pursue psychology and social work degrees.

The transition allowed him to work as a community liaison, tutor, school-based mental health counselor, and case manager, where he tirelessly promoted emotional resilience among students and the general population. In addition to his professional journey, Miguel is passionate about community service. He actively participates in local outreach programs to dispense food and provide mental health support and resources to underserved populations.

Miguel's practice is eclectic. He uses CBT, Play Therapy, DBT, Mindfulness, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing elements to address clients' concerns. His goal is to change the narrative around the stigma of mental health support, empowering individuals to seek help without fear of judgment.

With a compassionate approach and a wealth of life experience, Miguel is dedicated to helping his clients navigate their challenges, fostering a culture of openness and understanding in mental health. He believes everyone deserves the tools and support needed to thrive and is here to guide them on that journey.

Baldemar Menchaca,
LMFT-Associate

Meet Baldemar Menchaca! Baldemar's approach to therapy is a relational, conversational space where people can slow down, reflect, and explore what matters most to them. His work is grounded in curiosity, respect, and a belief that meaningful change emerges through dialogue rather than direction.

Baldemar works with children, adolescents, couples, and families, and he is a bilingual therapist offering services in both English and Spanish. He is attentive to the ways language, culture, family, and community shape lived experience, and he strives to create spaces where clients feel seen, heard, and supported in speaking in ways that feel natural and authentic.

He holds a deep commitment to working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and families, offering affirming therapeutic spaces where questions of identity, relationship, and belonging can be explored with care and openness. Baldemar understands therapy as a collaborative process and honors clients as the experts of their own lives.

Baldemar earned his Master of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy and completed his clinical training at the Houston Galveston Institute. His work is informed by postmodern, collaborative-dialogic, narrative, and solution-focused approaches, with an emphasis on conversation, relational meaning-making, and expanding possibilities rather than fixing problems.

In addition to his clinical practice, Baldemar works as a school-based therapist, partnering with students, families, and educators within school communities. He brings sensitivity to the unique relational, emotional, and systemic challenges that arise at the intersection of home, school, and community life.

With a background in education and a passion for systemic thinking, Baldemar approaches each therapeutic conversation with humility and care. He is interested in walking alongside people as they make sense of their experiences and discover new ways forward that feel meaningful to them.
